As we approach the end of our first year together, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the journey we have embarked on and express my deepest gratitude for your unwavering support and enthusiasm. I’m writing to thank you all for what you’ve given us, whether it’s the renowned people we featured, the tales we told, or the experiences we had; 2023 was nothing short of a dream come true. It has been an incredible year of growth, learning, and creativity, and I am honoured to have been on this journey with all of you.
When I first conceived the idea of Foyer, I envisioned a platform that would celebrate the power of design to shape our world and inspire us to think differently. I started Foyer as an Instagram magazine, back in 2021 to serve as an avenue for me to share inspiration and visually appealing environments. Slowly it grew into something more meaningful, a space where designers, artists, and enthusiasts come together and share their passion, exchange ideas, and push the boundaries of what is possible.
And what a year it has been! We have featured groundbreaking experiential destinations from Qayaam Gah in Kashmir to the Maison Brumello in Marrakech, Morocco. While we got the opportunity to interview visionary designers like Ryan Saghian and Pallavi Dean, and industry insiders like Kamna Malik, every interview shaped us and our vision. While we are at a time when AI appears to have taken over design and creativity, it has enabled us to comprehend the infinite possibilities of it and how it can be used as a tool. With each interview and individual we met, we explored the latest trends and innovations in the field. We have seen the emergence of new ideas and the transformation of old ones. We have seen a significant rebirth of old-world style as well as a resurgence of design as relatable rather than merely picture-perfect spaces and objects.
None of it would have been possible without you, our readers, and our community. Your engagement, feedback, and contributions have been invaluable. You have challenged us to think critically, to push the boundaries of our creativity, and to constantly strive for excellence. Your passion for design has driven our dedication to providing you with the best content possible. As we look ahead to the coming year, I am filled with excitement and anticipation. We have big plans and ambitious goals for our magazine, and we cannot wait to share them with you. We will continue to bring you thought-provoking articles, stunning visuals, and insightful interviews. We will explore new topics, experiment with new formats, and collaborate with even more talented designers and artists.
Above all, we will remain committed to our mission of celebrating design in all its forms and using it as a force for positive change.
